The Study / The BDSM Riddle.
January 17, 2015, 09:52:42 PM
So I asked a person this question tonight: "what do you call a person in a relationship who is neither Dominant nor Submissive, neither Switch nor Vanilla?"

It was, of course, a variation on an old ontological theme. "What is one who is neither self nor non-self, neither both self and non-self nor otherness from self and non-self?" However, instead of a simple being, my question was geared towards a being in a relationship with an other.

But she didn't see that. She looked at it from the BDSM perspective and found that I had excluded "all" possibilities and answered that this person is masturbating. I do give her some credit, because she had half of the answer correct. True, that person is alone, but not in a relationship with only self.

There is no alterity without ipseity. You can't be in a relationship with someone else if you are not first and foremost naked and alone with and as your self. There is no 'selfness' without 'otherness'. It's the paradox that love is active strength because of its passive vulnerability: active and passive at the same time. Forgiveness as the secret of invincibility.

The firey water.

The circle squared.

Paradox.

Or, as Éliphas Lévi would put it, "harmony results by the analogy of opposites."

The Assault on Reality / Hockey Night Insubstantia.
December 02, 2014, 03:57:17 PM
Not so long ago I trolled a close friend, inviting her to a "magic competition" to prove which one of us is a better magician.  I told her that she had the Toronto Maple Leafs and I had the Montreal Canadians, and whoever's team won the next game would prove either her or I to be the better magician.  Of course her team lost, the Leafs suck, hehe.  She cares nothing for hockey and didn't know that the Leafs would surely lose, statistically speaking.  After bragging for a long that that I am the better magician, I revealed that I had trolled her and we had a good laugh.

So, on Dec. 2, 2014, Montreal Canadians won 4-3 against Colorado Avalanche.  Remembering that there are Marauders in Denver and, feeling comical at the time, I was tempted to troll them on that situation.  Then I saw this:

So, it gave me an idea.

LET'S JINX THE HOCKEY GAMES !  Not silly "magic competitions" or pointless trolling, but adding a bit of magical spice.

What's interesting about the hockey games is that it's watched by tens of thousands of people.  Imagine if a whole bunch of crazy unusual things were to happen during the games - live on TV - that would seriously cause cognitive dissonance among the masses, perhaps a bit of a mindfuck and if we're lucky, we'll eventually mageify a few muggles.

Who's in ?  Let's plan a few game dates to spice up with a bit of magic - marauder style !

The Armchair's Lounge / Occultic Jokes.
November 26, 2014, 12:05:30 AM
So a ceremonial magician, a wiccan and an occultist are at a bar and they all have to go pee.

The ceremonial magician pees and washes his hands using hot water and a copious amount of soap, rubbing himself all the way up to his elbows.  He claims loudly, "one has to be clean in front of the eternal Lord."

The wiccan pees and washes his hands using a tiny amount of soap and a tiny bit of water, washing only his fingers.  He says humbly, "it is important not to waste the precious ressoures of our Lord and Lady who are Nature."

The occultist pees and doesn't wash his hands.  He raises an eyebrow and looks at the other two, saying, "I didn't pee on my hands."

Anyone got another joke ?

Cursing.  Doing vengeful magick to people with the obvious intent that they get hurt a lot.

Not the wishy-washy fluff-bunny method of "sending bad vibes their way" through a method of kitsch visualisation; while it may be good for neo-pagans who like to have "energy" wars, I'm looking for something that will hit the target more than just "on the astral plane."

Cursing is never something I've bothered with very much.  My philosophy has always been, "the worst punishment you can give someone is to let them live with themself" and "forgiveness makes one invulnerable."

On the few times that I've tried, I've never been even remotely good at cursing because the only times I ever want to curse is when I'm pissed off to the point of not being able to magically concentrate.  When my anger dies down, I stop wanting to actually curse the motherfucker, despite feeling hatred or spite.

But there are situations where I believe my feelings are justified and I would need a more "pro-active" approach to dealing with things.  Yes, I can do all sort of other types of magic, but I think it's time I read up and learn more about the agressive styles that aim to do actual damage to peoples' lives and selves.

Now, if anyone says to me that if I'm not a good enough magician that I can't figure it out for myself then I shouldn't be posting here, you are correct.  Yes I know, that I can simply adapt the techniques I'm already used to doing, but I'm looking for things specifically geared towards hurting others.  Hence, I'm not asking for anything other than references.

I've read a few medieval French grimoires, and some chaos magick ressources such as the excellent Chaostar! and Toastar! by Francis Breakspeare, if anyone has any other titles or authors to recommend, it would be greatly appreciated.

Some people say that to be efficient, you have to practice a lot and, quite honestly, I can't bring myself to randomly hurt people for the sake of practice.  That's why I want to look into the theoretical and then adapt what I already know to new methods that I could learn.

Reading moral takes on this doesn't interest me, I couldn't care less about "the law of return" or any other hogwash interpretation of punitive karma.  I'm interested in technique and perspectives aimed towards results.  Vengeful results.

The Study / Assault on Reality as Moral Responsibility
October 15, 2014, 11:40:55 PM
Quote« Tout progrès intellectuel étend notre responsabilité morale. »
  - Oswald Wirth

Ok, so the Swiss philosoper, Oswald Wirth wrote that intellectual progress extends our moral responsibility.  He wasn't talking about "rationality" or "geeky/nerdiness" nor technology / science when he wrote "intellectual" ... it meant in a much more deeper, occult sense, in relation to the initiatic process or the developmental process an individual goes through as he or she progresses in maturity.

In this sense, I have noticed in many individuals, in many authors, in much mythology too, how when one reaches a certain stage of magical development, one has the motivation to emancipate others.  To initiate others.  To teach.  To share the sacred fire.

I see the Assault on Reality as a service to society, an artistic gift that is given to them.  Kind of like giving the spiritual keys to a mental prison.  Not everyone will want them, many people will have been "institutionalized" and will want to stay in prison.  However, does the Magician / Occultist have the moral prerogative to help hir peers to evolve as individuals and as a society?

Entheogens 101 / Just a few quotes about Lucy.
September 17, 2014, 08:11:26 PM

"Nobody stopped thinking about those psychedelic experiences. Once you've been to some of those places, you think, 'How can I get back there again but make it a little easier on myself?'"  JERRY GARCIA, Quoted in Rolling Stone, November 30, 1989

"LSD burst over the dreary domain of the constipated bourgeoisie like the angelic herald of a new psychedelic millennium. We have never been the same since, nor will we ever be, for LSD demonstrated, even to skeptics, that the mansions of heaven and gardens of paradise lie within each and all of us."  TERENCE MCKENNA

"If God dropped acid, would He see people?"  STEVEN WRIGHT

"Always that same LSD story, you've all seen it. 'Young man on acid, thought he could fly, jumped out of a building. What a tragedy.' What a dick! Fuck him, he's an idiot. If he thought he could fly, why didn't he take off on the ground first? Check it out. You don't see ducks lined up to catch elevators to fly south - they fly from the ground, ya moron, quit ruining it for everybody. He's a moron, he's dead - good, we lost a moron, fuckin' celebrate. Wow, I just felt the world get lighter. We lost a moron! I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am, so that's the way it comes out. Professional help is being sought. How about a positive LSD story? Wouldn't that be news-worthy, just the once? To base your decision on information rather than scare tactics and superstition and lies? I think it would be news-worthy. 'Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we're the imagination of ourselves' . . . 'Here's Tom with the weather.'" BILL HICKS

"I believe that with the advent of acid, we discovered a new way to think, and it has to do with piecing together new thoughts in your mind. Why is it that people think it's so evil? What is it about it that scares people so deeply, even the guy that invented it, what is it? Because they're afraid that there's more to reality than they have confronted. That there are doors that they're afraid to go in, and they don't want us to go in there either, because if we go in we might learn something that they don't know. And that makes us a little out of their control." KEN KESEY Quoted in the BBC documentary, "The Beyond Within: The Rise and Fall of LSD," 1987

"The Pranksters had what looked like about a million doses of the Angels' favorite drug - beer - and LSD for all who wanted to try it. The beer made the Angels very happy and the LSD made them strangely peaceful and sometimes catatonic, in contrast to the Pranksters and other intellectuals around, who soared on the stuff . . . The Angels were adding LSD to the already elaborate list of highs and lows they liked, beer, wine, marijuana, Benzedrine, Seconal, Amytal, Nembutal, Tuinal. Some of them had terrible bummers-bummer was the Angels' term for a bad trip on a motorcycle and very quickly it became the hip world's term for a bad trip on LSD. The only bad moment at Kesey's came one day when an Angel went berserk during the first rush of the drug and tried to strangle his old lady on Kesey's front steps. But he was too wasted at that point to really do much."  TOM WOLFE, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, 1968

"'Turn on' meant go within to activate your neural and genetic equipment. Become sensitive to the many and various levels of consciousness and the specific triggers that engage them. Drugs were one way to accomplish this end. 'Tune in' meant interact harmoniously with the world around you - externalize, materialize, express your new internal perspectives. Drop out suggested an elective, selective, graceful process of detachment from involuntary or unconscious commitments. 'Drop Out' meant self-reliance, a discovery of one's singularity, a commitment to mobility, choice, and change. Unhappily my explanations of this sequence of personal development were often misinterpreted to mean 'Get stoned and abandon all constructive activity.'" TIMOTHY LEARY, Flashbacks, 1983

"That was the fatal flaw in Tim Leary's trip. He crashed around America selling 'consicousness expansion' without ever giving a thought to the grim meat-hook realities that were lying in wait for all the people who took him too seriously . . . All those pathetically eager acid freaks who thought they could buy Peace and Understanding for three bucks a hit. But their loss and failure is ours, too. What Leary took down with him was the central illusion of a whole life-style that he helped to create . . . a generation of permanent cripples, failed seekers, who never understood the essential old mystic fallacy of the Acid Culture: the desperate assumption that somebody - or at least some force - is tending the Light at the end of the tunnel."  HUNTER S. THOMPSON, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, 1971

"Of greatest significance to me has been the insight that I attained as a fundamental understanding from all of my LSD experiments: what one commonly takes as 'the reality,' including the reality of one's own individual person, by no means signifies something fixed, but rather something that is ambiguous - that there is not only one, but that there are many realities, each comprising also a different consciousness of the ego. One can also arrive at this insight through scientific reflections. The problem of reality is and has been from time immemorial a central concern of philosophy. It is, however, a fundamental distinction, whether one approaches the problem of reality rationally, with the logical methods of philosophy, or if one obtrudes upon this problem emotionally, through an existential experience. The first planned LSD experiment was therefore so deeply moving and alarming, because everyday reality and the ego experiencing it, which I had until then considered to be the only reality, dissolved, and an unfamiliar ego experienced another, unfamiliar reality. The problem concerning the innermost self also appeared, which, itself unmoved, was able to record these external and internal transformations. Reality is inconceivable without an experiencing subject, without an ego. It is the product of the exterior world, of the sender and of a receiver, an ego in whose deepest self the emanations of the exterior world, registered by the antennae of the sense organs, become conscious. If one of the two is lacking, no reality happens, no radio music plays, the picture screen remains blank." ALBERT HOFMANN, LSD: My Problem Child, 1980

The DKMU Vault / Marathon of Evocations
February 26, 2014, 09:51:49 PM
In September of 2013 a suggestion was made in the facebook group that we should invoke or evoke all of the DKMU godforms in chronological order over the course of almost a month.  I participated in this activity and recorded my rituals and results.  It can be read at the link below.

The Assault on Reality / Rectangular Stickers
February 10, 2014, 08:36:50 PM
Ok, so I've been looking into making my own stickers and having them printed out.  So far, I have two working models.  Am I doing this right ?  Any suggestions ?

Also I do not have photoshop, so I'm not very fancy and 2nd, I want to keep them black and white so as to minimize printing costs.  The QR code directs to this website and I am told it works.  I think keeping the QR code on there is important.

Cheers !  Examples below :
