Wikipedia:

QuoteOtherkin are those who identify as partially or entirely non-human. They contend that they are, in spirit if not in body, not human. This is explained by some members of the otherkin community as possible through reincarnation, having a nonhuman soul, ancestry, or symbolic metaphor. Scholars categorize this identity claim as "religious", because it is largely based on metaphysical beliefs.

...

Otherkin largely identify as mythical creatures, with others identifying as creatures from fantasy or popular culture. Examples include: angels, demons, dragons, elves, fairies, sprites, aliens, and cartoon characters. Many otherkin believe in the existence of a multitude of parallel/alternative universes, which would explain the existence and the possibility to relate to fantastical beings and even fictional characters.

But I get why many people don't like using that term. Connotations, stereotypes.

I've met people like you. Do you call yourself an otherkin or does that term have too much tumblrfluff attached? Good to meet you anyway.

Where are the conversations on facebook? I've stayed away from the site all these years so I don't really know how to use it. I joined the group but all I see is reposts from here.

Sure it was. We're not famous enough to have people writing about us.

I can't find a kultwatch.org. There's a cultwatch.com and a worldcultwatch.org, maybe we could submit this to one of them.

I'm a college student in Colorado, likely moving to Washington next fall. 22 years old, female, been officially into magic for about a year and a half. Unofficially, of course, I started as a kid, which I'm sure is pretty common. Um, I have a dog and a couple cats co-owned with my parents. Generally leftist political views. I'm an introvert and I go outdoors a lot. I was raised agnostic with an emphasis on science, so I wasn't able to follow my interest in magic until I encountered the whole chaotic "belief is a tool" thing. I'm interested in (mostly) harmless vandalism, urban exploration, and messing with people.

Anything show up in the news? It took me longer than I'd planned to set up, so I got started a few minutes late.

I wasn't a happy bunny when I learned I'd missed the Denver event.

If you do a godforms cycle, let me know about it. Tara Flower, the advent calender sounds like a great idea but I'm not sure what you mean to do with it.

I think I'm going to try the Detroit/Islanders game on Friday. If that works well I might do the Broncos game on the 28th, since I'll at least be having that one on in the background. Did you do the evocation at the time of the game or just before?

Let me know too when you come through Colorado. I'd like to pick your brain apart. I'd also like to hear about your travels.
