[The Ultimate Tagline Collection]

Hi everyone  :)

Here's a start of something I've been wanting to do for a while. A central place for all the catchphrases, expressions and whatever else that can be used with tagging. The point of the exercise is simple -- whenever one does a tag and has no idea, this will be a place to look  8)

I'll try to find and include everything that is visible anywhere or that could be used in that context. Obviously, I'm very much looking for what you want to add  :) . I'll try to give credit for each line.

The Start is done  ;D I think I'll start sorting by source, maybe we find a way to sort by better categories later. Naturally, this is a Work in Progress and always will be, but I do hope to have all the obvious available sources put into here soon :D [Edit: I think I went through most of the material and copied most of it out. Not everything though -- there should always be something to explore ;) Now it's on us to come up with more.]

You know, I have a friend who tells me that what I do isn't proper and that I'm limiting myself (I.e. "This isn't magic you dimwit." more politely  ;D ). Instead, I ought to ask the Archangels for Guidance,  become a Lightworker and at all costs avoid associating with Demons. You see the problem with following everyone's advice here  ;)

So, what if next the question went to Metaphysics? How does Magick work and what's this universe thing anyway? Let alone minds.... Obviously difficult questions  ;)

The resource that was recommended to me and that I would also recommend is the Kybalion. In a subgroup on FB, I wrote my interpretation of this, which covers how Magick works in my view and what our relationship with the universe is. So here come my answers, for what it's worth  ;D

This is my understanding of "Khaos Magick":

By the word "Khaos" I mean "a primordial origin-point, a gaping abyss derived from Greek lore from which the Gods and everything else stepped forth." (Frater Alysyrose) This serves as a name for the Root of all Phenomena.

The Universe is the Thoughts of Khaos (following the Kybalion's "The All" and it's mental creation). The future -- what is not decided yet -- is thus determined by the ongoing thoughts of Khaos. The Root of all Phenomena maintains the Sum of all Phenomena (the Universe) -- hence "Khaos provides" 8)

This concerns everything, including things like the vast amount of space which contains almost nothing, galaxies with no conscious observers etc.

Now comes the twist: We too are such thoughts -- and what's more, we have our own thoughts. Our minds are parts of the Big Mind of Khaos. This means that our thoughts are also its thoughts. So we naturally play a role in determining the future, get a fragment of the decision power so to speak -- and this is my answer to how Magick works  :)

In Magick, we decide on some intent -- "This happens". Now, the more of our mind-fragment's resources we put into this decision -- the more intent/concentration/energy we give it -- the more likely it becomes that the future turns out that way :) This is where Occult research comes into play -- to find out how is this actually to be done.

[Edit 15.12.18 – I suspect that there is no theoretical "how". Just infuse your intent with magick – however that feels for you – and practice it. How to lift a weight? Just lift it, you already have muscles. Lifting is a natural skill and so is magick. Some weights are too heavy though, so you have to train on lighter ones first. There is only your intent and Magick itself, no intermediaries.]

All minds together create the future states of the Universe, one after the other. Where intents conflict (as with two wizards battling for the last cookie, to use Arjil's example), the outcome with more energy poured into it manifests. (This means that the relatively inflexible "Laws of Nature" must be powered by some pretty large part of "Khaos Undivided", so to speak)

On this view, life is a contest of wills with other similar minds and whatever drives the "physical world". Thus "uncontested" chunks of reality are easier to manipulate -- I can make myself cheerful easily because no one puts energy into wanting me to be sad and it's not hard on the laws of nature. However, I can't just win the lottery, because it's highly contested by other minds and correctly predicting the complicated trajectory of the lottery machine is physically improbable. This is the gradient on which intents fall with regards to difficulty.

However, that does not mean that we have to treat the universe an an enemy from which energy must be wrested. Khaos chose to think of Magickal beings. Thus it wants Magick to work. So one needn't force the energy that surround us everywhere (the elements, prana, whatever) -- one can instead ask it for cooperation. This, I guess, I another meaning of Khaos provides ;) [This point is inspired by an acquaintance's opinion on working with the elements, thanks!]

This view -- to me -- is succinct, explains what we are seeing and "predicts" (alas post-hoc) what we are not seeing. Of course, it totally depends on the heavy premise of "The Universe is the Thoughts of Khaos" :D However, "Everything is mental" seems to be the only way to explain quite a lot of stuff... (Side note: This view also seems nice on Spirits, from Servitors to Gods -- they can simply be separate mind-fragments or (shared?) "subdivisions" of other mind-fragments.)

The Deed is done :) Today I performed a little ritual to Lift the Veil.



The Intent was threefold:

1. Raise the Level of Magick in the World. I reread the beginning of the old Ellis pdf today and Arjil writes "The only point of the linking sigil is to form a magick net, all working to increase the levels of magick in the world, like a
giant spell that evolves and grows each time we add to it till eventually. " -- I don't want to forget that part :)
2. Empower Ellis and the LS-Network, thereby also making the Magick of those who work with Ellis stronger (because I <3 DKMU and Ellis, what to say :) )
3. Ensure that my life is going well in general (I add this intent to all my magickal work to prevent the "Your spell for money killed a family member so now you can inherit... but aren't happy"-failure mode)

I dressed up in a black hooded cloak (over my usual black wardrobe :D ) and went to the prepared spot. There I spread around half a bag of peanuts to all the Ravens and Crows who'll see the place in daylight, and prepared a very makeshift "altar" from the stuff that was lying around. Then I set up everything and took pictures :D

Then came the actual Magick. I am quite tired from yesterday's travel, but managed to get into somewhat of the right mental state to push Energy into those intents. Intoned the prepared verses and just stood there, focusing on the "feeling of Magick". This does work better when I'm sitting at home then when outside -- my mind wanders to much... need more meditation, what to say. But still, I liked it and hope it will help, if only a bit :) 

As a bonus, I left the Sigil (who's backside you see below and which I took from the DKMU-FB) and the candles in the glasses there (I'll go check this Friday and take it all home if it's still there). The glasses are each marked with one of the 4 alchemical elemental triangles :)

It's about making a list of books that you would give to someone as introduction to some specific type of magick. I immediately though, "But wait, I want to include Websites and such!" So I decided to go ahead and create my own list (with Blackjack and... Blogposts!  ;) ).

I'd love to hear what ressources you have given or would give to someone who is curious and wants to learn.

Here's my list. I'll try to keep the amount of text to read to a minimum.

I think, with this one can start actually doing the Thing and getting experience and practice. In my "Magick is more like weightlifting than like rocket engineering"-view, practice is actually more important. The theory is just there to get on on the path -- or rather to tell one, that there is an actual path which can be taken.

Today I found a nice little spot for the ritual.  :) 
It in a small wooded part of a nearby park and some folks apparently wanted to build something there, so there are wooden (My english breaks down :D) stillages? palletes? [Those wooden things which fork-lifters lift with stuff on it :D] lying around, so I can build a makeshift table to put the candles and the photo on.

Obviously, the place needs some preparation :D :

I personally am not a very calendarial person and don't really connect to "special dates" -- I try to make every "normal" day good and magickal :) So I'm not really the right person to answer here. However, the day before I plan to be in Munich and hopefully get us a tag or two there ;)

I might find some semi-hidden wooded spot close to the river and make a little ritual with some candles, charge some sigils that way. Maybe get a Black Robe, so that if anyone sees me it will be taken as fun? :) I begin to like where this is going. Basically Halloween as "Night of Public Magick".

Somehow I feel that it is time to share another of my Servitors with you.

He is the Second Spirit. His intent is roughly "To ensure that I have Great Willpower and Self-Discipline". Here is his sigil -- this interpretation was created by Kindra Tia Haugen https://kindrahaugen.wixsite.com/kindra-tia-art -- thanks again :)



I think Willpower is, just like Cheerfulness, a topic common enough that folks might benefit from this. And I also think that the effectiveness of such Magick will increase, if more people use it. So there :)

The Spirit looks to me somwhat like an Ancestor Ghost from TESIII Morrowind http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Undead#Ancestor_Ghost but in faded Gold, not grey, with gusts of golden light around him. He also wears his Sigil as a mask on his face, but since it's all transparent, the skull is still visible.

The first part of the idea is that that this will boost one's general willpower. Just the ability to pull though on one's plans, get up and do stuff etc. That is a kind of background-effect. And the second part is, when I actually have a hard time to get myself to do something just now, visualising that sigil as a mask over my face and the Spirit telling me, in a deep voice, to get on with it, helps quite a bit ;)  The point is that he wants you to get ahead with what you really want -- to push you to become the version of yourself, that you really want to be.

That should be enough to get started working with him, in whichever way you do it. I'll add a short part from my Reflections-tread:
"> Doing Magick with that focus. "intentionally infusing ones Will with magick" -- "Summon the vision, and more importantly, summon the Feeling, and Pretend like a kid that you're casting your spell, and like a kid, Believe it.".

A bit of history, for those who care. I don't remember a lot, unfortunately. Somewhen a few years ago, maybe only 2 or 3, I decided that I need a sigil for willpower and came up with the above, just rotated slighty. I saw it as the Sun beaming down sunrays. Then a few months later, I had an uncalled visualisation of a kind of ghost next to my bed. Not a strong hallucination or so, just like I would visualise with open eyes an apple on a table that isn't actually there. But in this case, I didn't try to visualise a ghost (though I do think that I saw a cool ghost-picture some time before that.).. But it was kind of non-threatening.  So I tried to ask it what it is, and tried to think what could be going on, and then, I don't remember how, it ended up taking that sigil as a mask and kind of becoming a Servitor for that Sigil. Don't know what you make of this -- maybe some kind of unconscious evocation while sleeping that caused this to happen :) Either way that has been a while ago and it is now an established part of my life. I'm regularly powering it up in roughly the way mentioned above. And my willpower is improving too :)

Sidenote: Though there is no LS included, he considers himself part of the LS-Network :)

Edit: I forgot to mention, he is not Second because of any chronological order, but because he is somewhat concerned with Second Order Desires, i.e. what you wish to wish . Edit 2: I never felt the urge to share this one before... and don't have an urge to share the others. But he today somewhat demanded to become public. That's quite interesting in itself... Maybe someone needs something like that just now and that thought propagates through the LS-network? In any case I'm kind of nervous about it, as if it was a performance on stage :D but feel that this should help :)

Thanks for the review :) This part really interests me: "He comes with some advice about using sigils, like working with a sigil over a period of time instead of forgetting it." -- since this is kind of what I do already. The Fire-And-Forget approach never really worked for me, and I sure did try. So I'd like to know, what does he suggests for "working" with a sigil? How does he get "Power" into it etc. ? And also, what do you suggest to the same questions ;) if that fits your style?

Edit: Thief answered in the IRC "He says he keeps the sigil in mind as much as possible. also, not making the sigil a desire, instead making it as something that has already happened, or something like that" -- thanks :) So nothing to new here.
