Networking / Step away from the facebooks!
August 08, 2013, 05:49:42 PM
Spookland is crawling with "intelligence", so I find it ironic so many self-professed rebels and contrarians would keep an account...

come join me in the forums and let's get the IRC back up and running. it can't return to glory if none participate. I for one hope to see you here.

There are also many nice alternatives to facebook, which won't force ads to play on your timeline, or store/sell your data.
Come on back and we can make this thrive!

l am also aware that it's easier to use FB, but I thought magicians liked a challenge....

first, frater, I must ask "how?"

then, to the topic at hand: any updates?

General Occultism / Signs & Symbols
August 08, 2013, 05:32:16 PM

have for a long time, (probably since I learned to read) been fascinated by symbols and language, both themselves different forms of magick. I study the meanings of and their relations to other symbols. Well, the other day, I became vividly aware of the new (as of about 10 years ago) U.S. Army, when I was struck by the fact of a square holding a star with a small rectangle below. I went home and was reading up on different interpretations of the square. My interpretation of the logo, is as follows: the square, the broken rectangle (the words "U.S. army" are segregated from the star) and the star form a pithy pictogram of the army's agenda.

"The rectangle is representative of the most stable, rational and secure geometric forms." and throughout all times and places, man has used this shape to prepare many things for immediate practical use in life, as  beds, rooms and tables can attest.

"The square implies tense domination born of an abstract longing for power".

and the star plays representative of the spirit and multiplicity.

So, you had stable and rational security (relative) for the spirit and life in general. these have been rent in twain, marginalizing the aforementioned rationality, and domination of the spirit and the masses through a near infantile longing for power. Jung also observed that the square represents the "pluralist state of man who has not achieved inner unity."

Question: have you ever looked closely at the Congressional Medal of Honor?

Announcements / Re: Disinfo / DKMU

that article is what lured me here with the promise of Discord and Contrarians (that's what I took from it any ways). I tried to skip by it, but the siren called me back, and here be I.

oh right on. I was just reviewing my library when I realized that I lack any books about herbs, let alone magical used of such. thanks for the share!

In hard to find sites under bridges and tree canopies to tie some randomness. I like to glamourbomb scrap paper at the library, I like to also leave them in the out going post, just on a scrap of paper. I have been quite pleased with the random coincidences that have worked themselves into my timeline. I plan on making a web of them encircling this town because they need it. I have started work on the first altar/shrine, which should be done in a week or so. anyone on deviant art? as soon as I remember my login, I want to upload pictures.

Sweet, Svipal! What kind of stuff do yours make? I get wild hairs coming out of my ass all the time, so I am constantly dabbling in new things I discovered on the webs.

Any idea why the majority of the group lurks on facebook?  I personally find it ironic seeing chaotes
haunting Spookland, given the nature of the beast.
What about an alternative? Gods know there are plenty.

How did you get into magicks? I had always been interested since I was younger, but I grew up in a VERY small western town, and without the internet I had access to only the watered down "spirituality" peddled in the cheap, dilapidated mass outlets in the "new age" section if Big Box retailers like Waldens and Borders. I picked up the Necronomicon (it was the first "occult" book i had owned. Yes, I am aware of it's nature) and after reading it, was struck by the notion that it was merely a truly grueling method to wind up on the lower levels of astral plane, and much was probably unneccesary. My father taught me what little he knew of, in drunken rants in the small hours if the morning.

/rant, of which there will be many more. Hope we can get some more activity on this site, at least.

also not trying to detect from your experience, maybe you did encounter ellis, I can't say, but am now curious about peoples salvia experiences, and I will open a thread tomorrow. tonight is sleep for that heavy cross called work.
#28
so, my question is: have you encountered any other female entities while using salvia? I know I have, and many others, she usually gives an unintelligible name, but says you can call her Sally. After my first encounter, I was usually saving her in dreams. which is odd thinking about it now, but one direction I have been pushed towards is that of healer... sorry for tangent, literally just thought of that .

and incidentally, I want your gold, gems and free labor.now work to enrich my coffers!

on about more serious business, I live in THE Whitest town ever. not physically white, but the mentality. Sheltered, cowardly comfortable Christian  cowed cattle. I have been plotting an assault on their pleasant realities using planted shrines, altars, and sigils in  out of the way places for some time now, but near apathy, tiredness and plain lazy combined to form procrastination (i.e. stagnation). I discovered this group via www.disinfo.com , in an article about contrarians, and it pushed my resolve. I have been plotting this undertaking for a while, but the discovery of people of the same mind was an inspiration.

I was thinking of using the inherent Christiania of this town when it struck me that I should use it against them by constructing a sigil that encouraged visions of angels and miracles, the theory being;

1:Christians readily accept magick, as long as it sources from "their guy" or his agents.

2: Christian encounters with non-christian paraphernalia usually induces, however brief, a moment of panic, or brief trance states.

3: These moments of trance are sufficient to implant the directions for the subconscious mind.

This is going to be a long term operation leaving the same sigil at area churches. Maybe attend some sermons to play the Loki.

On the subject of ellis, do people still use it? I have been leaving it about, and ended up combining it with my evolutionary mark. maintaining the whole of both, just altered sizes, and added little.

I have lots of hobbies and crafts I practice. lately it's paper making, so I can bind spellbooks and journals. musical arranger, part time writer. too many things to label.

I have only seen one type of forums that had no bickering. I sincerely hope this doesn't devolve. let's make a strong community, and keep it lively. the mere fact that we are rebels indicates we are thinking individuals, so let's use it.
